John D. Baker represents clients in Minnesota State and Federal Courts on all level of offenses and a wide variety of charges including Domestic Assault, DUI/DWI, Drug Charges, and more. He frequently represents servicemembers, veterans, first responders and other professionals whose careers can be derailed by criminal charges.

He also represents veterans and servicemembers on a variety of legal issues that are related to their military service including veteran’s preference and USERRA violations.

Most recently John was honored as a 2010 Minnesota Lawyer Attorney of the Year. He received this honor for his work in chairing the initiative for Veterans Courts in Minnesota. Veterans Courts are a problem solving court designed to connect veterans with counseling and programming with the Veterans Administration instead of incarceration. John is a frequent speaker on veterans in the criminal justice system.

John retired from the United States Marine Corps as a Gunnery Sergeant after serving twenty-two years in various infantry, artillery and administrative capacities in numerous locations within the United States and around the world. John graduated magna cum laude from Saint Cloud State University and is a graduate of Hamline University School of Law.

Currently, John is the chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association Military Law Committee. He is also a member of the Military Action Group (MAG) at the legislature and has been active in writing and getting legislation passed to benefit veterans and servicemembers in Minnesota. John is a member of a variety of veteran service organizations as well as the Twin Cities Army Community Advisory Board and the Hamline University School of Law Alumni Board.

Sharon Clark-Williams works primarily with our transactional clients in the areas of Estate Planning, Elder Law and Small Business Law. She works directly with each client to create the best plans for their situation. Sharon gives presentations on Estate Planning issues.

She also assists those who would like help changing the past. Sharon handles expungements, representation before the Minnesota Pardons Board and post-conviction relief. For veterans she also assists with discharge upgrades.

Sharon is a Blue Star mother and native Minnesotan. Prior to becoming an attorney she was a classical realist oil painter. She graduated from Hamline University magna cum laude with a degree in American Law and Legal Studies and is a graduate of Hamline University School of Law. Sharon is not currently accepting clients.
